Hatch has more than 60 years experience in engineering, procurement, construction management and consulting services for thermal plants. We designed our first cogeneration plant in 1944 and have worked in all aspects of conventional thermal power generation, as well as new advanced technologies.
Hatch’s Gasification and Coal-to-Liquids team has experience with all commercial gasification technologies and provides its unique skills in technology development and custom design to both established and developing technologies. Projects have involved the use of coal, biomass and municipal solid waste feedstocks for the production of electricity (in IGCC and other configurations), petrochemicals and synthetic liquid fuels.
The responsible use of carbonaceous feedstocks requires that special attention be paid to plant emissions. Hatch’s Gas Quality Control (GQC) practice specializes in power plant flue gas handling and the application of environmental control technologies for the reduction of particulate, SOx, NOx, Hg, and other contaminants.
